Single lane simple traffic simulator (mouse over loop to start)

Blue: Normal driver. Smoothly deccelerates to avoid collision. Smoothly accelerates to top speed if safe to do so (as a function of distance from driver ahead, right now an exponential)
Red: Bad driver. Close follow distance. Accelerates quickly if below max speed. Brakes for too long in traffic (maybe they're on their phone). Also have slower reaction time to car in front slowing
All drivers have a random max acceleration but the same max speed (about the speed limit probably). Bad drivers have higher average max speed and acceleration (and max speed is random).
Perturb button stops a driver for some amount of time. Good for simulating pedestrian or the like.

Things to try
All ideal drivers spread out - think always find a somewhat good equilibrium (good forward progress). What if they're in a clump at start?
What happens if there is one asshole and rest ideal - do they find equilibrium?
